Lucienne Day - Graphic Interpretation

This Image is a textile design by Lucienne Day called 'Calyx' This textile piece was created after World War 2 and was inspired by plant forms. Her inspirations were Joan Miró and Paul Klee and I think this design was so greatly appreciated in its time as it was a refreshing modern uplifting change from war time dreariness. I think this image relates to my 'Graphic Interpretation' brief as i think it has a linear timeline quality to it. This could be adapted to incorporate my theme or i could explore this kind of imagery and develop and experiment with it to see how i could incorporate it into my work.
