TigerPrint Spring Floral Competition.

Below are my entries that i have submitted to TigerPrint's recent competition for a spring floral design that focuses on mothers day or easter. You can find them here on their website and you can check out the rest of the designs too.

Layout & illustration

After developing these invites for the fashion show at University (the brief was based on Victorian curiosity) I have really started to enjoy experimenting with layout and illustration. My designs weren't chosen though.

Contemporary mothers day competition.

I entered the TigerPrint competition to design a card for mothers day and now all i have to do is wait to see if i won. I hope i do win, as i could get £200 and an opportunity for work experience!

Shmap!!

A while ago i was contacted by "Schmap Leeds Guide" to say that i had a photo shortlisted to be included on their website. It was a photograph of a sculpture at bretton sculpture park and i got an email yesterday to say that it has been included and is up on their website with a link back to my flickr account!!
Its only something small but ya gotta start somewhere!

Hand to Eye......

Ive had this illustration book for a while now (and ive liked the images below for ages) and i finally can mention this image in reference to something that im actually doing for this DontPanic brief. I love the use of illustration using thread and sewing and i think the juxtaposition of the Apple sign embroidered is really interesting. I included the other image as i just like how it looks like one continuous thread for the whole illustration. by Lizzie Finn.

[ Machine ]

I've been given a live brief, to design a poster for the free student art pack thingy from DontPanic.com The theme i have to design an image for is the word machine and my idea is to create the word machine out of sewing to represent sewing machine. I started sewing tonight and it took ages! this is as far as i have got....



i moved onto the i as i had left over thread and didnt want to waste it and it wouldnt have been enough thread for the h. Ill update with progress tomorrow.
