For my critical studies essay i am going to write about Art Nouveau and how it was influenced by the socio cultural times. While looking for images and info for further research and ideas i thought i would mention some of my favourite artists from this movement and show some images. I have liked Alphonse Mucha's work since i was at college and i like his style. This following image is by Mucha:

From my research i have found out that Art Nouveau had taken some inspiration and ideas from Japonisme and when you look at Japanese artists of the time like Hiroshige and Hokusai you can see this influence. The following image is called 'Waterfall' by Hokusai.
