I find typography from all languages really interesting and i think that language, communication, speaking and type will be my focus in the summer brief and a more detailed focus for me next year. Ive always liked communication between languages, unspoken, body language and spoken, but also just the way certain words, phrases and sayings are translated and interpreted. I like the way a simple phrase in English could be misleading in Japanese and the way that words in Japanese are formed, with intonation playing a key part in certain words as much as the spelling and grammar. Ive never really realized before that my interests in languages and graphic design could mix but as graphic design is communication i see them fitting together perfectly. My three favourite things - Japan, Typography and Languages can be mixed!!
