I decided to include work from Laura Ljungkvist in relation to my 'What is a line' brief. I think the simplicity of her designs and her simple plain use of bold flat colour is really interesting as its focus is the images. The lines create a graphic, almost logo/symbol like set of imagery and i think it is the single line creating the whole range of images mixed with the overlapping images that makes this effective. This is a selection of previews from her series of books entitled 'Follow The Line' All these images can be found at http://www.followtheline.com/books.html
The first image is from a book subtitled 'Around the World'
This is a preview from the book subtitled 'Through the House'
This image is from the first in the series of books.
The following images are from this section of her website where you can download crafty things to do - http://www.followtheline.com/funprintouts.html
The first is of two different circle patterns that incorporate the series of books titles and imagery.
This image is a printout from the same place as the one above and is a print it out to colour in for children.
